Co-hosted by Decorative Concrete Branch, CCPA and National Building Materials Exhibition and Trade Center, and in collaboration with Shanghai Zhuoou Construction & Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd, “International Forum 2018 on Enclosure System Design, Fabrication and Construction Techniques of Prefabricated Buildings” was successfully held at Qube Hotel Xinqiao, Shanghai on June 12th.

Guo Xueming was the first one to make a speech, titled “A Review of the Enclosure System of PC”. He listed such details related to the system as its definition and types, the range of its application, its integrated design content and requirement, the artistic expression of building envelope, insulation as well as some common types of PC exterior wall.

The next theme report under the heading “Properties and Engineering Applications of High Performance & Extra-high Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete” was delivered by Lin Li, who stated that these two types of concrete are both characteristic of high strength and excellent durability. The former could provide compressive strength of 60-80 MPa, and the latter, as the most valuable research finding in the 1990s on concrete materials, is widely regarded as an ideal material applied in oceaneering.
Two Japanese experts, Director Heng Jiangyong and Section Chief Hongo Masaya were also invited to make presentation respectively on subjects of “Application of GRC Thermal Insulation and Decoration Integrated Boards in Prefabricated Buildings” and “The Development of Pca Curtain Wall and Exterior Wall Waterproof Engineering by Sealants in Japan ”.
Heng Jiangyong (Japan) - PC Technology Director of Tokin Co., Ltd
Director Heng Jiangyong indicated in his presentation that GRC Thermal Insulation and Decoration Integrated Boards could be applied to solve the four problems existing in Chinese construction, unsteady quality, long construction period, poor performance in fire resistance as well as high cost.
Hongo Masaya (Japan) - Technology Section Chief of Masaru
Later on, focused on “The Development of Pca Curtain Wall and Exterior Wall Waterproof Engineering by Sealant in Japan”, Section Chief Hongo Masaya presented to us the transition of Japanese curtain wall and sealants and waterproof design and treatment in nodes. He also analyzed the status of Chinese PCa buildings and the problems we are faced with. He believed only in the case of joints reasonably located, proper sealants applied as well as excellent quality management could good waterproof performance be achieved in construction. Then in response to the problems that often occur at construction site and those sealants could not manage, he speculated a variety of possible reasons and provided us with right directions we need to work towards in future.
Carmen (Denmark) - an expert on Aalborg Portland White Cement from Cementir Holding
Carmen, with rich expertise on Aalborg Portland White Cement, brought us a speech centered around “A Research on High-performance GRC Materials”. She noted, the study on GRC found that the final quality of GRC materials depends on formula and controlled process, which requires particular attention to the compatibility of superplasticizer, cement and acrylic acid so as to avoid bleeding and long-setting. It was also found in the study that premixed GRC materials are often better distributed and thus more durable.
What is worth mentioning is that we were honored to have invited Carmen to our company for exchanges of technology. The two sides had a discussion over the properties of Aalborg white cement and its application in our products and projects we undertook. When she got in sight of the spectacular presentation of projects such as the Boutique Shopping Village in Shanghai Disneyland Park, Johnson Controls’ Second Global Headquaters Building in Shanghai Hongqiao, Moganshan Gowin Town, developed by Bluetown Group, and so forth, Carmen again and again praised, “It’s beautiful”.
After the forum, the delegates visited Fangsong Street Project in Songjiang, developed by KWG Property, a multi-storey residential project which features an insulating enclosure system and prefabricated rate up to 40%.
